The Red Shoe Wedding
|
 |
Aimeé’s wedding should probably be called the Red Shoe
Wedding rather than Red Gown Wedding, since it all started with the
shoes. The subtitle is the Make it All Yourself Wedding. |
 |
Aimeé designed her own dress. It is loosely based on
kimono design, with the wrap front, draped rear neckline and flowing
kimono sleeves. |
 |
The dress is fully lined in red Chinese silk that peeks out
from all edges and is embellished with red glass beads and faux pearls. |
 |
Aimeé also designed the rings, which are based on her
grandfather’s wedding band. The diamond was a gift from her
grandmother. The rings were constructed by Jade Moran (www.jademoran.com). |
 |
The bridesmaids chose their own black, Cheongsam-style
dresses. Ella’s was an heirloom from her grandmother. They wore red
dahlias in their hair, and carried parasols decorated in red, orange
and gold fall leaves. |
 |
The groom wore a charcoal gray cutaway with a red waistcoat
and tie made of the same material that lined Aimeé’s dress. The
groomsmen had standard tuxedos with gray mandarin-necked waistcoats.
(Webmaster's Note: The groom is the one being carried downstairs.) |
 |
The flowers were red and white dahlias and chrysanthemums.
Floral bouquets, arrangements, favors and centerpieces were all
designed and created by the bride with help from the bridesmaids. |
 |
Three flavors of cheesecake (Lemon Mascarpone, Almond Sour
Cream, and Pumpkin) were baked by a friend of theirs, Jessica Pease. |

The Red Sox garter was made special order by www.justforbride.com
